I did some research on the web and the ATI website was the one that conveyed me the most. I did not think doing it online would help me decide if I could become a good teacher or not so I looked at the in-class courses. I had been planning to go to India for a while so the decision was pretty fast.

I feel I was very lucky in having found Nikki, Scott and Mika as my peers. During the course we spent a lot of time together so the fact that we got along very well made everything more fun. Anjana is a wonderful teacher and always willing to help in and out of class and the TESOL staff was all helpful and cheerful. Had a great time.

I chose ATI because I wanted to get the TESOL certificate. I had researched doing it in England and it was very expensive along with the fact that I wanted to be travelling. I had always wanted to come to India and I thought that this was the perfect way to gain the qualification I needed and see another country at the same time.

I was very impressed by how comprehensive the course was we were prepared for all aspects of teaching in a through and methodical way. Our trainer was very good and very knowledgeable with a wealth of experience, which helped us to progress really fast. We were also helped with integration into Indian culture which just added to the experience. The best part was that we experienced teaching all ages.

I was thinking of participating already nice 3 years. I never was sure which place is best to go- but it is ATI TESOL homepage represented perfectly the way this company is serious, well organized and top! Also the destination India made me choose this program, because of the spoken English all over the country.

I had a great time from the beginning at the course till the very end. And I am actually very sad that these 3 weeks went by so quickly. Everything was organized perfectly from the housing, the in-class time schedule the transport to schools etc. had a wonderful learning experience and will definitely recommend this program here in Kerala.

I enjoyed it very much. The course was informative and opened my eyes to the experience of the learner. Anjana was very good. She made it easy to understand and helped me grow a lot. The location is also a very good, it gave me a chance to get into the life of people in the area as this might not have been possible otherwise.

I liked that there was an internship offered directly after or a associated with the course. Even though I was initially unsure how I wanted to use my internship and which I wanted to choose, ATI was very accommodating and helped me with my options. As a foreigner I would have liked a more detailed list of what I should bring and what I should expect in the accommodations. May be list of restaurant in the area. Just for the first days, this would have been helpful.

It was a very good learning experience. The exposure I had here was bit different from what I was doing at my job. The trainers were very friendly and approachable. Overall experience was good but the accommodation given was very far from learning site.

Kolkata is known for its rich culture and heritage. People are very cooperative and friendly. I have had nice exposure with ATI. Faculties of ATI are knowledgeable and help me throughout the course.

The experience at Kolkata was good and the only reason behind it is I love having food and sweets are my favorite. So I selected the Kolkata location. The experience with ATI was good but could have been better i.e. more facilities infrastructure wise.

I just thought about switching my career to the teaching profession and when I explored my options I found that TESOL/TEFL course is mandatory in most of the countries. So I had 2 options – TEFL corp or ATI. ATI is known for its excellence and a premier institute. So I chose ATI and now I am much more confident and sure it would help me in the future.
I was skeptical about choosing this course. However I am happy with the way the course went on for the past three weeks. It was a good learning experience. It was an intensive three weeks of my life and I am looking forward to the 1 month internship at Thailand.

 I wanted to teach English abroad. I wanted cultural exchange that I would get with my students. ATI was the only program that offered an internship when you finished your certification. That translated to me “job security”, so I jumped on the opportunity. I really enjoyed the course. The staffs were very friendly and the teachers were wonderful. The difficulties that arouse when the school we were supposed to be teaching at cancelled were very bothersome. There was no flexibility in the lesson plans being adjusted to suit the students we were teaching. It made me feel, as a teacher, like my hands were being tied behind my back.

An issue I have had with ATI was that before the course began in India, the communication about the cost of living, contacts etc were limited. Also my housing situation was changed the day before I arrived in Kolkata, which I almost did not get that message. Also the varying differences in the quality of accommodations were crazy. To improve I think that it would be great if ATI would have all this of the trainees soon in a single facility. Once again I would like to say that my overall experience was good. I just feel that communication needs to be improved. Please contact me if you want some suggestions.

I feel that I have come a long way in the last three weeks from my first peer teaching lesson which was a complete disaster. Now I have grown in confidence and knowledge in the teaching field.

I have always wanted to come to India and I have always wanted to teach English abroad, so the ATI program in Kolkata was perfect for me. I also liked that ATI arranged for internships and helped with placements. I have loved my time in Kolkata. I have learned a lot about methods of teaching English to non-native speakers. I really enjoyed the amount of hands-on teaching experience we got. Even though we ran into some problems with scheduling (the first school we went to said we could not come back anymore and they had to find new schools), ATI handled it quickly and found new schools for us to go to on short notice.

They have been very helpful with any questions that we had and they found us a great internship in Bangalore. The trainer has provided with some inputs which were not aware of. My interest was stimulated by the way they presented a topic in the class from LSRW point of view. The trainers have promptly addressed our problem whenever necessary. The training site should have Active board and projector. I may go empty handed from the site but my head has been loaded with positive experience. I simply learned so many positive things from presentation of the topic to classroom management technique. It was simply spellbound. Since I am non-native, I wanted to have one native foreign faculty for one session.

In this stage I am fully engrossed in this specific learning process. With all the trainers’ efforts to the outmost level and specially Amrita (our dear ma’am) met my problem. For training site, I would like to suggest for language lab, projector with audio-visual aids. I have got a tremendous experience in this TESOL institute specially in learning a foreign language. The course should be oriented for the adults or college level students too.

The experience is simply unforgettable! I am immensely thankful to entire team of trainers who are incredible, adorable and honorable. The infrastructure is well. Language lab should be updated, computerized and audio-visual aids are required. TP must be recorded for evaluation.

There are a few points which might help improvise the standard of TESOL for the future batches: if you are open to suggestions- every skill taught needed enough time and practice. Clubbing in all the skills made the sessions too monotonous. The 2nd and 3rd week was not challenging. There should have been more peer practice. Some how I did not get to see an international approach- through the website talks about it but could not get to see enough of it here. They should have projector, photo copy machine and white boards. Please make sure the guest house is close to the training area, we were cut off form Kolkata. And there has to be an administrator who should look at the place before placing the students, it is going to be more professional.

Infrastructure should be improved. Xerox projector needed. The institute should bigger than what it is now. As a teacher I do have lot shortcomings, but after attending this course I came to know what these were. Some of the trainers should be native speakers.

The approach of the course was totally new for me. There should be video recording for our practice teaching to improve our skills. It was excellent in terms of getting back my student life again, I enjoyed thoroughly and hoping to implement it in my job. The materials (not the books) and the printouts should be more clear and instead of chalk dust there should be white board. Finally thank you for having a centre in Kolkata.

Teaching practice session should have been done for higher level of students as well (15yrs and above). We did not get any exposure at that level at all. The training site should have Xerox machine, more internet connection and white board. The experience was good learning process. Nice exposure for a fresher.

This certification is a prerequisite to many ELT jobs abroad. It gives innovative inputs regarding English language teaching methodology, which in turn facilitates the teachers in setting up a more lively classroom environment. Above all the course is in India and that too in affordable conditions.
I enjoyed staying in Cochin. I felt I made a right choice. Transport, Accommodation everything is excellent. I felt at home.
ATI in Cochin is good but it could have been even more effective if it is not adjacent to the main road. The facilitator, the organizer, and all other facilities are beyond comment. I strongly felt that I should be a part of ATI in the future.

When I look back at these few days I have mixed feelings about this fortnight. This gave the chance to meet ‘nice folks’. I took active interest in some sessions. Personally some sessions were good and I learnt something new. Some other were average sessions.
